Where can I read Queensland legislation for free?

At legislation.qld.gov.au, the Queensland Government’s official legislation site, which publishes current and historical versions of Acts and subordinate legislation at no cost. Commonwealth legislation is published at legislation.gov.au. Both are authoritative sources, and both are preferable to a summary on a law firm’s website — including ours.

Where can I get free legal help in Queensland?

Legal Aid Queensland provides free information and, subject to eligibility, representation in some matters. Community legal centres offer free advice, often specialising by area or community. The Queensland Law Society operates a find-a-solicitor service. For domestic and family violence, DVConnect runs a statewide crisis line on 1800 811 811, and 1800RESPECT operates nationally.
