Doug is a Principal Solicitor and Director at Terra Australis Legal. He brings a distinguished and unique career that combines decades of senior executive leadership in multinational corporations with a dedicated and passionate legal practice in Australia.
Doug regularly represents clients in a broad range of matters including commercial and company law, mergers and acquisitions, family and domestic violence matters, criminal law, and general litigation. He also advises on building, construction, and engineering projects, including large-scale green energy developments, and appears frequently in QCAT in neighbourhood and small-claims disputes.
Before entering the legal profession, Doug served as Chairman, CEO, and senior executive with organisations such as Boral, BHP Steel, and Nexans across the Asia-Pacific region. His leadership experience in corporate governance, strategy, and negotiation underpins his ability to deliver pragmatic, commercially astute legal advice and strong courtroom advocacy.
Fluent in Mandarin, Doug lived and worked in China for nearly 30 years, giving him valuable cultural and linguistic insight when assisting Mandarin-speaking clients. Committed to community service, he has previously served as a Senior Field Officer and Treasurer for the SES in Brisbane, where he implemented governance and accounting frameworks now used organisation-wide. Outside of practice, he enjoys travel, mentoring young professionals, and spending time with family.

Fraser Hawkins
Fraser is an experienced lawyer and Principal Solicitor at Terra Australis Legal. He holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London and accounting qualifications, and is admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. Fraser is also an Associate Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
Having practised in Australia, New Zealand, and the Cook Islands, Fraser has extensive experience in both civil and criminal litigation, including acting for a major Federal Government agency. He also advises on employment law, work health and safety, and regulatory criminal matters.
Fraser combines deep legal experience with commercial acumen, sound judgment, and a results-driven approach.
Outside of legal practice, Fraser enjoys travelling, spending time with his family, and contributing to the community through his role as a Judicial Officer for Queensland Junior Rugby.

Rachel Alderson
Rachel is a solicitor at Terra Australis Legal specialising in employment law. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Queensland University of Technology and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law, and is admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.
Rachel acts for both employees and employers in matters involving unfair dismissal, redundancy, workplace bullying, discrimination, and employment contract disputes. She provides clear, strategic, and outcome-focused advice, and regularly appears before the Fair Work Commission and related tribunals.
With additional qualifications in public relations and a background in governance and strategic communication, Rachel combines strong legal experience with empathy and a client-focused approach. She is passionate about helping people navigate workplace issues with confidence and clarity.

Megan Adams
Megan is an experienced solicitor and is admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory, the High Court of Australia, and Maine in the United States.
Megan has a broad range of experience, including both civil and criminal litigation. She has worked in-house and in private practice since her admission. She is experienced in local, magistrates', district and Supreme Courts as well as multiple tribunals, including the Fair Work Commission for both employers and employees.
Megan has a strong client-focused approach to managing matters and is dedicated to giving clients advice they can understand.
Outside of legal practice, Megan enjoys spending time with her family, including gardening, sewing, spending time with pets and cooking.

Demi Coates
Demi is a paralegal at Terra Australis Legal and is in the final year of her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Since early 2023, she has worked under the mentorship of Principal Solicitor Fraser Hawkins, gaining practical experience across civil and criminal litigation.
In 2026, Demi plans to complete her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and pursue admission as a solicitor. She recently represented her university at the 2025 Australian Law Students' Association Conference in Canberra, competing in legal advocacy at a national level.
Demi brings strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a client-focused approach to her work. She is passionate about improving access to justice and helping clients understand their rights within an often-complex legal system.
Outside of work and study, Demi enjoys reading and exploring local trails with her horses and dog.
